Author Chantelle Schenning came to create children’s books by a unique path. When writing became her mental escape during her IVF journey to have a baby, she developed a story that she hoped to share with her future child. This unexpectedly joyful process brought forth Little Acorn’s Big World, a collection of stories that follow an adorable, brave, and curious acorn as he faces new challenges and is greeted with the beautiful wonders of the world around him.

Chantelle believes a great book is one with meaning and lessons that the reader can carry forward throughout life. She hopes her young readers come away from her stories inspired to be kind, curious, and brave to learn new things and meet new friends and that this stays with them long after the book is closed.

Chantelle is also a seasoned healthcare leader dedicated to improving the nation’s healthcare system for betterment of patient care and outcomes. When she isn’t writing words of wisdom for children, Chantelle is enjoying every moment of being a new mother to her son, PJ. She also enjoys many pastimes including chasing the best coffee and tasting wine, crabbing with her dad in Maryland, traveling, exploring new hobbies, and making people smile especially her dear friends and family. She lives with her husband, their son, and two dogs in California.
